Usain Bolt by Puma

As Usain Bolt joined the Puma family I had the pleasure to work on his run suits for the 2010 european buildup to the Olympics races. The suits were designed with Usain Bolt and reflected his interests and reflected his persona.

The machine suit is in reference to a comment made by Tyson Gay stating “he is a machine”. The suit is printed onto a black fabric with black 3m reflective. as Usain comes towards the finish line camera flashes burst and the machine is exposed.

The second suit pays homage to Usain as his favorite movie form, Manga. A series of art was produced for this design which was added to t-shirts in addition.
